Giving
The Amwell Society depends on income primarily from subscriptions. We have a small reserve, never more than £5,000. We have always been committed to making membership affordable to all. To aid and support our popular events, to maintain and develop our website, to invest in the locality we value all donations no matter how small.
Tree Planting Initiative
Most of all we are fund-raising for our tree-planting initiative, the cornerstone of our 50th anniversary celebration. Buy a sapling and save the planet. Think globally. Act Locally.
All the streets and squares in the Society’s catchment have vacant spaces for new trees. Some trees have died, some have become diseased and therefore dangerous. All new trees will be specially chosen to fit in the local townscape. Special attention will be paid to ensuring that roots will not damage drains, foundations or pavements.
Gifts In Wills
A gift in your will would also be a way of giving back to the area where we love to live. Any gift we receive we promise will be used for the enhancement of the Amwell area. New shrubs or bushes, repairs to garden furniture and replacing and painting of railings in public areas will be our priority. We will aim to direct your gift in or close to your address. Or you can specify the street or garden you would like, in broad terms, to enhance.
